Wisdom of a Kiss

(Folk In A)
Ted Kastelic

When I told people I was working on a song called "Wisdom of a Kiss", they told me stories about what it meant to them.  A father dying, Kissing a baby's boo-boo, a lover........

GM7
She walks into the room
            D
It’s 3:35 am
GM7
The baby woke up cryin’
                                D
She’s there to take care of him.

GM7
She wipes away the tears, and though
                       D
He won’t remember this,
Bm
She quiets him with her deep love,
A7                       D
And the wisdom of her kiss.

Two lovers share a sweet embrace

They hold each other tight,

The tension and release that comes,

From lovers taking flight.

The ecstasy is something

Neither one would care to miss.

But the ecstasy is only part,

Of the wisdom of their kiss

He lies there all alone,

The end we know is near.

His children and his family

And all the friends he holds so dear,

Have come to say goodbye to him,

To show their love to what they’ll miss,

But the only thing he’ll take with him,

Is the wisdom of their kiss.

Sometimes we kiss to share our love,

Sometimes we kiss to just hold on.

Sometimes we kiss to say goodbye

When it’s time for us to be alone.

Even Judas when he turned in Christ,

Knew not the least of this.

We’re all risen from the dead,

By the wisdom of a kiss.

Yes we’re all risen from the dead,

By the wisdom of a kiss.
