Stand Up

(Folk In A)

My Mom's favorite song.  It's about finding hope out of dispair.   The old gang at the Big Basin Bistro used to stand up and sing with us on this.  What a great time.

When you're feeling broken hearted, Abandoned and confused
Left alone in this old world, Forsaken and abused.
Hard times come and sometimes stay, Peace of mind just can't be found
You can't make things go away, but you can choose to stick around, and you can just

Stand Up.   Stand Up.
Take my hand and stand up next to me.
Stand Up.   Stand Up
Take my hand and stand up next to me.

When it feels like nothing works, and all your hopes are gone.
that's when it really hurts, and the sadness comes along.
Tears come streaming down your face, you wish that you could dye.
Can't take the darkness anymore, can't bring yourself to try. but you can just

Cho:

Lie there wailing on the floor, lost in the dark night of your soul
No one else can reach you there, you can't hear them anymore,
But if you listen very well, and if you look just right.
You'll hear an I Love You, in that hell, and you'll begin to see the light.
